A few screenshots could help to explain it, but a save from just before the AI army starts its movement would be better. Since this latest patch though, the AI has pretty much fully forgotten forts exist. The AI can march onto Burgundy's capital without taking the forts specifically there to protect it. Delete one of those forts or block the strait and you won't have that problem. This is also why you don't build forts with overlapping ZOC.
